The sky is a caged bird, trapped in a prison where the whole world watches on in silence, doing nothing.
The black and white emphasises the brutality and harshness of this scene, making it even sadder and more austere, devoid of any hope.
Each strand of barbed wire bites into a possible future, tearing it apart with great coldness and without regret. The building in the background, anonymous and distant, is the monument to this exclusion, a cold witness to loneliness.
This photograph confronts us with the harshness of life in certain parts of the world and highlights our privilege in living in peace and security.
